Well-planned environmental protection

The residential sector of Faubourg Boisbriand is a pilot project for world-renowned LEED for Neighborhood Development certification. Based upon specific, strict criteria, this standard allows development projects to be certified for their global contribution to protecting and improving the environment, and the health and quality of life of residents.

Less waste. Faugbourg Boisbriand used careful measures to recuperate material as old installations were being demolished.

Goodbye to visual pollution! There are no hydroelectric lines, phone lines or other lines in sight! The outdoor lighting is designed to illuminate your way, while preserving the beauty of the night sky.

Room for vegetation. Indigenous trees and plants play an important role in the landscape and contribute to improved air quality and lower temperatures during summer months. Indigenous plants require less water and maintenance because they are naturally strong and adapted to our local climate.

A real lake. Surrounded by natural plants, the lake setting is a peaceful oasis. It also collects the run-off water, reducing the amount of natural resources required to build infrastructures.

Hide the cars! Most of the parking areas are underground. This means more green space and less heat emission from asphalt surfaces.

Public transportation that works. Trains to the suburbs are the way of the future. To help residents and shoppers take full advantage of the train, Faubourg Boisbriand will include a pedestrian walkway to the planned station.
