19/12/07 Maisons Marcoux install their first townhouses

It is today, December 19, 2007, just before Christmas as planned, that the very first townhouse was being erected, thus officially launching the construction of the residential sector of Faubourg Boisbriand. Mayor Sylvie St-Jean, is extremely proud to have kept her word on marking this event by installing symbolic Christmas decorations on this first house.

19/10/07 2007 CUI Brownie Awards

On October 18, 2007, for the occasion of the 2007 Canadian Brownfield Conference, the Urban Institute of Canada presented the 2007 IUC Brownie award for the category of "Best major initiative" to Faubourg Boisbriand.

This prize is awarded to the project which presents a lasting global approach (at the economic, environmental and social levels) and that:

  • Effectively integrates a phased project implementation of an urban scale
  • Presents high quality of an urban design and public spaces
  • Visually and functionally integrated into the local urban fabric
  • Is an innovative solution to the problems of contamination
  • Supports a wider economic development.

Faubourg Boisbriand is proud of this recognition. It seeks to obtain at the end of its residential development the LEED certification for Neighbourhood Development (pilot project) from the U.S. Green Building Council.
