The foundation work of of Les Habitations du Quartier Townhouses have started in last December. Currently the erection of first floor and the walls is made.

Delivery of the first 8 units is planned for the end of June while the 8 following units should be for September 2010.

Member for Vimont, Mr Vincent Auclair announced today that the gouvernement du Québec has allocated $ 4.2 million for the construction of a new center of creative production and dissemination of arts in Faubourg Boisbriand, the regional live theater. "This announcement demonstrates the importance the Gouvernement du Québec to develop the cultural offer, especially for a region experiencing rapid population growth as Boisbriand ..."

For her part, Mayor Boisbriand, Ms. Marlene Cordato , welcomes the announcement that "crowns five years of sustained collective efforts to build Boisbriand and the region of a single cultural facility, modern and accessible ... ... Thank you to the Gouvernement du Québec and our partners to achieve the first strategic step. The result is promising and culture will be well served in Boisbriand. "

A new hall with a capacity of 350 to 400 spaces will be built in the Faubourg Boisbriand. This project will meet all the needs of creation and production of the Petit Théâtre du Nord to the needs of broadcast Initiascèneallowing them to maintain their current form, but by offering opportunities for creating projects, so new audiences.

Faubourg Boisbriand and its residential site partners have organized a major activity on September 27, 2008 to welcome visitors on the residential site and to enable them to visit the pavilions as well as the sales unit models: a large tent to present the overall offer, shuttles to transport visitors to the site, music, thus, a warm welcome for those whom are interested.

Constructions Nomade (Pimbina Triplexes and Britania Townhouses), Les Habitations du Quartier (town houses), Les Loggias sur le parc (condominiums) and NC4 condos-boutique have displayed their high quality residential centers at Faubourg Boisbriand shopping centre.

Sylvie St-Jean, mayor of Boisbriand and several members of the municipal council were on hand to congratulate the builders and welcome the future residents of Faubourg Boisbriand.

Mr. Eric Boudreau inaugurated the model home of Les Habitations du Quartier on June 4, 2008.

Ms. Sylvie St-Jean, mayor of the city of Boisbriand, as well as representatives of the City Council and several business associates of Mr. Boudreau were present to celebrate this special event.

Faubourg Boisbriand is proud to welcome the opening of the first model home on its residential site.

Faubourg Boisbriand wished to commend the efforts of participants of the "La Grande Sortie" event which took place on May 25, 2008.

La Grande Sortie is an annual bicycling event that takes place in the MRC Thérèse-De Blainville district. Close to 1,000 people participated in the activity. Police forces from la Régie intermunicipale de police Thérèse-De Blainville and la Sécurité publique de Blainville were there to ensure the security of everyone.

The departure and arrival points of « La Grande Sortie 2008 » were located at Des Grands-Chemins School in Boisbriand, near Highway 640 and Grande-Allée Boulevard.

Members of the Faubourg Boisbriand’s team joined the activity and enjoyed the beautiful day.

On April 14, 2008, the Minister of Education, Recreation and Sports and the Minister for Families, Michelle Courchesne, and the Labour Minister and Minister responsible for the Laurentian region, David Whissell, announced, in the presence of Sylvie St-Jean, Mayor of Boisbriand, a $7.1 million contribution to establish a “Centre of Excellence on Ice", which has a provincial mission of developing elite hockey players.

The Centre of Excellence on Ice will cost upwards of $15 million to set up. Once completed, it will consist of two regulation rinks, two mini training rinks, four shooting corridors, players’ rooms, a large gym with a 200-metre indoor track, locker rooms, two multi-functional rooms, as well as space for additional services (physiotherapy, nutrition, boutique and restaurant).

Sylvie St-Jean, Mayor of Boisbriand, thanked the Quebec government for its unwavering support of projects that ate essential to top quality of life within the Boisbriand community.

Promoters of the Centre of Excellence on Ice include Joel Bouchard and Pierre Gendron. The Centre will be owned by a non-profit organization under the authority of the City of Boisbriand.

Faubourg Boisbriand has supported the Centre of Excellence on Ice project since its inception and is proud to welcome it as part of its integrated lifestyle community.

On October 25th and 26th, FAUBOURG BOISBRIAND celebrated Halloween with more than 450 children accompanied by their parents and grandparents. The kids enjoyed the many workshops where they could design their own Halloween bags and decorate their own pumpkins. The talented make-up artists transformed children magically into Spiderman, Cinderella, cat and lions. Parents also had the chance to win prizes from our partners in the event including L’Équipeur, DeSerre, Le Commensal and DécoDécouverte. This event was a tremendous success for all the families. Thank you so much for your wonderful participation.

Just in time for Halloween, another entertaining weekend awaits families at Faubourg Boisbriand on October 25 and 26, 2008. Activities, make-up, games, as well as pumpkin and bag decoration workshops will amuse kids all day long! This event will take place under the big tent in the parking area of Deserres and Déco-Découvert stores.

On August 16 and 17, Faubourg Boisbriand organised a fun-filled back to school weekend for all the families who live in the area. Raffles and games completed the festive atmosphere for parents and children who were able to shop and have fun, all in one stop.
